Everyone deserves affordable, accessible health care no matter their income or ZIP code. I’ll fight to lower prescription drug costs, cap insulin prices, expand access to generic drugs and restore funding for rural and suburban hospitals. Health care is a human right and I support a Medicare for All framework.
Maternal Health & Reproductive Justice
No one should die from preventable pregnancy complications or be forced to give birth. I’ve led efforts on the county board to fund doula programs and reduce maternal health outcome disparities. I also helped secure millions for reproductive health care access in Illinois. In Congress, my focus will be to codify Roe v. Wade and ensure every woman can make her own health care decisions.
Good Jobs & Lower Costs
Working families deserve fair wages, affordable housing and relief from crushing costs. I’ll stand with unions, fight to repeal tax breaks for billionaires and support affordable housing investments. I’ve delivered medical debt relief to hundreds of thousands of Cook County residents and will lead similar efforts nationwide.
Innovation & Economic Growth
We can grow our economy while protecting workers and consumers. I’ll support responsible innovation in technology, digital assets and business development that benefits working people and local communities. I will also support the supervised and regulated integration of blockchain technology to modernize and secure sectors such as healthcare, identity verification and finance. Additionally, we must continue to pursue Artificial Intelligence to ensure the United States remains ahead of the curve in this powerful driver of innovation, economic growth and opportunity while also being a leader in accountability and developing a high standard of AI ethics.
Climate & Environmental Justice
I’ve sponsored over $100 million in sustainability and renewable energy investments in Cook County and will continue fighting for clean air, safe water and resilient infrastructure to protect future generations. In Congress, I will support rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement and ensuring the United States is at the forefront of environmental justice, climate responsibility and sustainability.
Agriculture & Rural Communities
Farmers are on the front lines of President Donald Trump’s trade war and small family farms like those across Illinois are being hit the hardest by Republican tariffs. I’ll fight for fair trade policies, smart technology investments in agriculture and economic relief that strengthens rural communities, not bail out multibillion dollar conglomerates.
Immigration & Human Rights
I support a swift and humane path to citizenship for migrants, due process for all and accountability for agencies that violate civil rights. We must end racial profiling and ensure immigration enforcement upholds our Constitution and our values. The current administration and federal agents’ blatant disregard for due process and constitutional rights is wrong and in Congress I will hold them accountable for their actions.
Safe Communities & Justice Reform
I’ve supported millions of dollars in violence prevention and helped launch Cook County’s first Restorative Justice Community Court. I’ll continue to support police-community partnerships built on trust, accountability and safety for every family. No one should lose a loved one to gun violence. In Congress, I will partner with anyone that is willing to take on the National Rifle Association and the gun lobby to pass common sense gun laws and work to provide mental health care access to ensure our children, schools and communities are safe.
Voting Rights & Democracy
Our democracy only survives if we defend it and I’ll always stand up for the Constitution and free and fair elections. I’ll fight to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, protect fair elections, and expand voter access through automatic and same-day registration. The attacks on our democratic institutions, the rule of law and our system of checks and balances cannot go unanswered.

Veterans & Military Families
As chair of the Cook County Veterans Committee, I’ve expanded funding and services for local veterans. In Congress, I’ll protect benefits, strengthen the Veterans Administration and ensure every veteran receives the care and respect they’ve earned.
Protecting Seniors
I’ll defend Social Security and expand Medicare and Medicaid so every senior can retire with dignity. I’ll also strengthen protections against elder abuse and ensure our aging population receives the dignified treatment they deserve.
